    Another great educational video. My first comment is Men should not wear flip flops, ok, enough said about that. I was not able to go to this one as planned, but my daughter was there and we have been talking all day long about the amazing booths that are hosted by the small companies. They love talking about their product and what drove them to design and bring to market. She did not know about the app, so I instantly stopped your video ( i mean paused, PAUSED, I did not stop it, really) and sent her the link. She will be able to use it tomorrow. With all the running around I am asking her to do ( and she is 8 1/2 months pregnant) the map is a godsend. thanks for that tip. The new shirt logo look cool, are you going to keep it? Cheers...

    These are all great tips and I use some already. A cordless fan is a game changer big time. Here are some more: I have a strong all metal rake that is about 7 inches wide with a shortish handle. I got it for 6 bucks at a hardware store. To be able to make a campsite free of thorns, pinecones/ sap, etc, really makes a huge difference. And I rake when I leave as well. A spray bottle with a mint oil/ water mix, to repel rodents, which can cause huge damage if they chew wires. I spray my tires, the ground and my engine every night and am very careful with food storage. Also mousetraps, which I am reluctant to mention and am not fond of using. But I have had rodent issues and the damage they can cause is real. It amazes me how fast they seem to be able to get in. I have had them the first night I camp. Lastly the fold up camp tables are fantastic. I use the Colemans as they are pretty reasonable. Because the legs are metal, critters cant crawl up them so I keep all my food on them and not in my Jeep. I am also a desert camper so there are no bears I need to worry about. Last thing, I have an assortment of clamps. Regular size pony clamps + smaller sizes. Lots of uses.

A couple things to add to your review for the FSR: use a handheld vacuum pump to blow up / deflate the mattress 10 seconds, allows me to store the sleeping bag easily, the FSR comes with a cover which I just keep on full time, the FSR comes with the LED dimmable light, there are window vents above the window on both sides.

      @@Venture2Roam I thought about it too - since it looks so much better without the cover. I worry about long term exposure of the soft tonnaeu to the elements, any issues with just having the cover off? Why would FSR provide the cover if it wasn't needed? Also with the cover, I can more safely power wash the bug guts / scrub with a brush and rinse without worry of the water making it through the gasket lol

    This is a pretty solid vid on the tents. I have the aspen lite xl and it’s a great tent. I am 5ft 8 and stand up in it when I want to get dressed. the light in the tent is nice. The mattress is great and I use a flex tail pump and it’s up in down really quick. I put 2 pillows 2 blankets and a fsr heated pad and can close it no problem. It also comes with an extra cover for extra protection. They are developing rack for the t tracks to mount stuff over the tent. Also fsr has amazing customer service. This is my 3rd roof top tent and it’s by far my favorite. Keep up the good work man. I enjoy your content. Btw the tent in mounted on my JTR with an Alu cab contour canopy.

As for storing bedding, many of our customers keep their sleeping bags in the tent without any trouble. Plus, we're launching a hybrid self-inflating air mattress in a few weeks. When deflated, you'll have even more room for extra bedding! We're also excited to introduce an aluminum rainfly pole holder that customers can upgrade to, ensuring the rainfly stays taut. Lastly, a cover will be available for both the standard and XL models, just like the one that comes standard with our Carbon Fiber tent.

    Great review, very on point. I bought the Aspen Lite XL. I just use a little compact air compressor which can fill and suck out the air from the mattress. Also, the removable boot bags are nice, but they only mount to the front, as FSR did not add clip points to the sides. This is a PITA for me as I have a 270 awning that I love to use. I've already ordered 3/4" clips, and am getting some channel bolts to make my own add on points for the side. Also, the Aspen has internal lighting and the Inspired does not. Small, but significant difference.

    • @Venture2Roam
      @Venture2Roam 3 дня назад

      Ya I didn't cover the lighting - I thought about it but I've literally never used any LED lights in any of my tents (which is a lot)...not a single time...so I tend to ignore it as a feature...so this is a good reminder to me for next time!

    Great review. The FSR fabric provides a lot of insulation if you zip it up tight and is very quiet to sleep in during wind storms compared to many other tents. I use a small $15 rechargeable air pump for my self inflating mattress. You can inflate and deflate a mattress in under 2 minutes with one and get more air out than you could by hand. The air pump will inflate and deflate a mattress several times on one charge and is about the size of a pack of cigarettes.

    • @Venture2Roam
      @Venture2Roam 3 дня назад

      Great tips! I haven't had good luck with powered air deflators...but maybe I should give it a try again. Also - I'm such a snob with how fast I want my tents to pack up...2 mins feels like forever to me..I want the whole thing packed away in 1 min...but that's just a personal quirk..and why I generally don't like air mattresses..This one is very comfortable though..I have slept great on it.

  • @at20rule
    @at20rule 3 дня назад

    Honest review? yes. But I find it weird you never mentioned how light it is for ease of removal since a very large percentage remove it every time for fuel economy and being to tall to park in garage with it on. Also to add that weight has very little to do with fuel economy regarding RTT's. Here's some content for you, add one of those soft RTT's then do a fuel economy test. Follow that with remove the RTT and add the exact weight to the inside of the cabin in the form of weights or passenger then do a fuel economy test again.

    • @Venture2Roam
      @Venture2Roam 3 дня назад

      Did you miss the part where I show my buddy literally lifting the tent over his head lol? I don't think there's a lot more to say on that subject. These tents are very easy to put on and take off..it's more to do with whether or not you have the storage space in your garage than how hard it is to lift them up and down. Less weight = more miles per gallon..that's all I'm saying..not that less weight on your roof matters more than less weight somewhere else for MPGs. It does matter for COG though...maybe that's where you got confused on what I was saying?

    Feels like every off-roading/over-landing RUclipsr buys and sells a new/barely old vehicle every year or two. Not that I’m judging, my brother does the same thing with BMW’s. I guess if you get an uptick in engagement and views because of bringing a newer model year vehicle to the channel it may make some sense, and you don’t have to own the Jeep past it’s newlywed years, so someone else will have to deal with the eventual classic Jeep unreliability as it ages while you get a brand new truck.

      I can only speak for myself, but Finn was 11 years old - I think that’s past the honeymoon phase. 😂 I find that audiences are split on it…some love seeing new builds, and some like seeing the older Jeeps. Anyone who buys a vehicle hoping for a result on RUclips is wasting their money IMO. It’s a very risky investment, and RUclips is a mysteriously fickle platform. That said, the car buying habits of the channels you’re talking about probably mirror their car buying habits in general. We are car enthusiasts!

      @@Venture2Roam Oh okay, to be fair I thought Finn was closer to 2015/2016 model year, not 2013, but I’m not as good at differentiating the wrangler years (wonder why, lol). But yeah, good idea then for you and the family to get a newer model vehicle and sell the Jeep to an enthusiast who can give it the love it will need as it gets older. My truck is a young 2005 V8 T4R 4x4 Sport, but I’m also a young mustang who would rather wrench and do some maintenance as needed on an old truck with good bones, even if I have the credit score to get a new 5th/6th gen 4R or the new Bronco. I would feel more stressed scratching/breaking my new vehicle on the trail whereas on my 2005 it’s less of a thought, and the reliability is still on-par/better than some late model vehicles from less reliable brands. I will admit, new builds look really cool, hence why they drive views, but custom trucks built by off-roading enthusiasts will always win my heart more and be more interesting for me despite enjoying over landing and new vehicle content as well. Mall-crawler content has the greatest mass appeal, over-landing too, but slightly less (non-campers are out), by the time you get to rock-crawling most people have lost complete interest 😂.

    Your gears will be fucked in 4x4. You need closer ratio...

      @Venture2Roam 3 дня назад

      Eventually that might be true. I have about 6K miles in 4WD on this setup so far with no issues on the 4.10s. That said I am putting new gearing in, and that was always the plan.

      To each their own! Last I checked my content was free on RUclips, so I’m not sure what you are refusing to pay for?

    Great video as usual. But the saying is “you can’t see the forest for the trees.” Meaning you can’t see the bigger picture because you are so focused on the details. Will be exciting to see what new rig you build next.

    All these points sold me on gear from Factor 55, but the biggest thing is that Justin is a 1st Amendment proponent. Many are trying to silence us in these days, but freedom comes through the Word. I will not be silent.

      Yes, you should not be silent about F55 making top notch gear.
